What does active 55+ living mean at Library Place?

Library Place offers a convenient, carefree, and car-optional lifestyle for active adults aged 55 and above. Residents can enjoy the advantages of an urban lifestyle by easily walking to various amenities such as restaurants, entertainment venues, parks, and more.

Which utilities will the tenants pay for?

Wi-Fi will cost $50 per month, and electricity will be billed based on usage.

Are there any additional fees?

Tenants will have the option to rent parking and storage for additional monthly fees.

Can I have my own vehicle? Do residents with vehicles have guaranteed parking?

Library Place provides 30 on-site parking spaces for residents through a monthly parking pass system. The parking spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis that is subject to availability. Parking is $300 monthly and requires a one-year commitment. Additionally, our parking lot is equipped with 20 charging stations to support electric vehicles. The EV Charger Premium monthly fee is an additional $100.

Can I bring my pet?

At Library Place, we warmly welcome dogs and cats that weigh up to 30 pounds. Additionally, we carefully evaluate other types of pets on an individual basis, ensuring a friendly environment for all our residents. To have a pet in our community, there is an annual fee of $600 per pet. Alternatively, you can choose to pay a monthly fee of $50 per pet.

What amenities can I enjoy at Library Place?

Amenities include community spaces, courtyard gardens, workout facilities, a warming pool, and parking. Lifelong, Library’s Place’s next-door neighbor, provides activities and programs onsite for active adults.

Library Place provides a standard maintenance service weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM as well as 24/7 emergency service, ensuring that assistance is readily available to address any maintenance needs.

Can I smoke at Library Place?

Library Place strictly adheres to the Tobacco-Free Tompkins program, creating a smoke-free environment. Smoking is not allowed within the premises of Library Place.

How is living at Library Place different from renting an apartment downtown?

Library Place is a dynamic and vibrant community thoughtfully designed for active adults aged 55 and above. The building is locally owned and operated by families with deep roots in the community. 

Do any of the units have fireplaces?

Yes, we offer fireplaces in certain units. Specifically, there are electric fireplaces built in 15 of our two-bedroom units and 3 of our three-bedroom units.

Are the toilets tall?

Toilets are standard height and have grab bars. They can be elevated with a separate raised seat.
